Using an air fryer, you can make tender, totally crispy fried shrimp in no time.
Traditional fried shrimp can get heavy, greasy, and greasy, but these homemade popcorn shrimp are light and airy.

They are seasoned with Old Bay, have crunchy panko crumbs, and are accompanied by a fresh, cool,
creamy sriracha mayo.

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ tablespoon sriracha plus more to taste, up to 1 tablespoon
  • ½ teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • salt to taste
  • For the Fried Shrimp
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour see Notes
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 2 large eggs whisked
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs see Notes
  • 1 pound large, uncooked shrimp peeledInstructions

1. In a small bowl, combine all the ingredients for the sriracha mayonnaise. Refridgerate until ready to serve, then whisk well until thoroughly combined.

2. Then, mix the all-purpose flour with the Old Bay seasoning in a shallow bowl until the ingredients are evenly distributed. Separately set aside.

3. In a second shallow bowl, crack both eggs. Be sure to whisk vigorously until the eggs are completely combined, not streaky. Keep aside.

4. Place panko breadcrumbs in the third shallow bowl. Place aside.

5. Pre-heat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Make sure shrimp are completely dry with paper towels.

6. Then lightly coat each shrimp in the seasoned flour mixture. Make sure all excess flour mixture is thrown back into the bowl, and then dip floured shrimp into beaten eggs. Once both sides of shrimp have been coated with egg, allow any excess egg to drip back into the bowl, and then transfer shrimp to breadcrumbs. Make sure both sides of shrimp are well coated with breadcrumbs by gently pressing them into the shrimp. The shrimp can now be transferred to a plate and set aside. Continue breading shrimp until all are breaded.

7.  Spray cooking spray on the air fryer basket. Be careful not to overlap shrimp or overcrowd the basket when placing breaded shrimp in it. Spray cooking spray lightly over shrimp tops.

8.  Cook basket for six minutes in an air fryer. After six minutes, check the shrimp. Continue cooking until shrimp are golden brown and cooked through, if needed.

9.  Remove shrimp from air fryer. Serve immediately with sriracha mayo and any remaining shrimp that have not yet been fried.

Enjoy!
