Shrimp Mac and Cheese

Ingredients

8 oz elbow macaroni

1 lb Big Easy Wild Caught Gulf shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

3 cups milk

1/4 cup butter

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp paprika (optional)

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (for topping, optional)

2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta:

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Cook the Shrimp:

In a skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the shrimp, season with salt, pepper, and paprika, and cook until pink and opaque (about 3-4 minutes). Remove from heat and set aside.

Make the Cheese Sauce:

In the same pot, melt the remaining butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook for about 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Gradually whisk in the milk. Continue cooking and stirring until the mixture thickens (about 5-7 minutes).

Add Cheese:

Remove the pot from heat and stir in the cheddar and Parmesan cheeses until melted and smooth.

Combine:

Add the cooked macaroni and shrimp to the cheese sauce, stirring until well combined.

Bake (Optional):

If desired, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbly.

Serve:

Garnish with chopped parsley before serving. Enjoy your shrimp mac and cheese!

Feel free to adjust the seasonings or add other ingredients like spinach or sun-dried tomatoes!
